Default Messenger Bag

Here is a great Messenger Bag Tutorial posted on the FabricWorm blog.

You only need 2 yards of fabric - one heavy weight for exterior and a light weight cotton for the interior, plus some miscellaneous bag supplies like fusible interfacing, velcro, and rings for the strap.

Here's one picture from the blog post <-- click to visit and see the entire tutorial:

Fabric:
  • Echino Ni-co Camera Gold for exterior
  • Jennifer Moore/Monaluna Mingle Steel for interior (not shown above)
Now let's open it up for discussion... what fabric combination would you use for your messenger bag?

How about one of the Pure Argyle prints by Sweetwater for the interior?

For the Argyle Man Bag, I would use a manly herringbone suiting fabric and line it with Sweetwater's Argyle print.

I found the suiting fabric on fabric.com

One more... I'm on a roll. I can't help it, I love shopping for fabric!

I think this one would make an adorable diaper bag. I don't know what to use for the inside though. Maybe a white with yellow pinstripe? Or a bold aqua solid. Hmmm. I know someone having a baby in March. I may need to think about this one a little. ; ) What would you use for the interior?

That's very nice bag...Actually it will be much better and much appropriated for messenger bag if the fabric used was Faux Leather.

Feel free to visit our collections and grab free samples.
