I was thinking of asking Little Bluebell to put together a checklist for her own thought process when selecting a color binding. Usually she "just knows" what she wants to use, but me being an engineer, I like to understand the "process".
![]() For starters, let me ask: 1. Have you decided on using a plain color or a pattern?I like it when the same fabric used in the quilt can also be used for the backing, assuming you have enough fabric. |

1.Plain color I think would look best with all the busyiness.
2. Black I don't think would look good and the white not so much. 3. 68 x 86 4. 2 1/2" binding Thanks for the posting on here and the pics!!!! Also, your input is definitely helping me

Hey Sarah,
My gut is telling me to use either the rusty reddish brown color I can see in the quilt top for a little more subdued but still complimentary to the blue. BUT, If you want to be a bit wild, I would use the orange, the bright orange! It looks great with the blue. You also have that row of orange blocks in the center... an orange binding would help move the eye from the center to the edges and back again. -Adrianne

Oooh, yes, I love the idea of the eye moving from center to edge and back again. The orange binding will definitely make that quilt a "looker".
I'm also really digging the small square outline around the outside. Would also love to see a fabric list. |

I know right! Now I just have to hope that Joann's still has that orange I used.
![]() All my fabrics are from Joann's. I would love to get more designer fabrics in the future, but the budget doesn't permit as of now. |
